Threads Renewed is a charitable organization dedicated to providing gently used Indian ethnic wear to children and teen orphanages and rehabilitation centers located in India. 

You can donate to Threads Renewed through our website by clicking on the various buttons on the homepage as well as the "Let's Do This" navigation tab located on the top bar.

We are in the process of registering for a  501(c)(3) non-profit for the state of Tennessee.

What does "gently used" mean?

 "Gently used" means the clothing is still in wearable condition. We want these children to feel respected too! We're looking for items that are:

• Clean and freshly laundered
• Free of or minimal (very unnoticeable) stains, tears, rips, or significant fading
• All buttons, zippers, and embellishments are intact and functional
• Essentially, if you'd be okay for your own child to wear it, we'd be happy to receive it!

Yes, currently we are only accepting children's and teens (18 and under) ethnic wear such as:

Kurtas

Lehengas

Dupattas

or any other attire worn by kids to Indian cultural events. 

For our local community, we offer a convenient clothing pickup service for a small fee of $5. This fee directly helps cover our shipping costs to send the clothes to India. If you're outside our local pickup area, please let us know on the donation form and we will reach out to you on the shipping process via email follow up within 48 hours. Thank you for contributing!

This small but significant pickup fee helps us financially in order to cover international shipping costs and to be able to donate more items! 

We try to aim for a bulk shipment of clothes once a month. Do not worry if you miss a particular month's date as we will just add your donation to the next shipment. During the summer, we typically go to the orphanages personally for blog and interactivity purposes :)

If you donated clothes for our first shipment in late July, we partnered with Chaithanya Mahila Mandali rehabiliton center. As we make more shipments throughout the year, we will post the location both on our website and blog.
